Exclusive to The Hardy Geranium Nursery
Geranium x oxonianum f. thurstonianum Pink Pearl is a clump forming geranium, excellent for ground cover. The star shaped flowers are bright pink often with a white or pale pink centre with either 5 or 10 very narrow, notched petals, reminiscent of a firework.
I discovered this seedling in my front garden a few years ago. It was thriving in full sun and quite arid soil conditions. I’ve grown it on since discovering it and have found it to be vigorous and exceptionally tolerant.
Geraniums are herbaceous perennials and for the most part they are super easy to grow and fuss free. They require minimal maintenance, and, in most cases, you will be able to propagate them by division and have many more plants in next to no time.
Not only are geraniums fuss free, but they are also generally pest and disease resistant. They are, once established, drought tolerant and even slugs, snails and rabbits turn their noses up at them.
With all this in mind, attractive flowers and foliage and long flowering periods what’s not to love about geraniums? They must be one of the most forgiving and enduring yet generous plants around.
